The Tea Potty and other pernicious politics

Their View: Voter fraud: New Mexico public wants the truth - Las Cruces Sun-News

Interesting article about some voting practices designed to affect and maybe even alter election results and sway the count. Please read the comments by Lissa Knudsen , Director of Public Policy at American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico

Here is the comment that I left below the article:

Clearly in many cases this society has adopted an ” Are you you you say you are ” mentality which I believe is a by product of progress generally and of technology in partticular. There was once a time when people didnt lock their doors at night and that corresponds to a issue with human nature or nurture, I dont know which and I dont care. Miss Knudsen is correct in her statement that the election integrity should be preserved.
We tend to be obsessed with the cliche “Character counts” Why not be equally enamoredwith the idea of “Integrity counts”. In the elections it is one of the last remaining places where integrity matters. Why ruin that?

Here is a second article sent to me by Miss Knudsen:

My blood runs cold-our Governor has just been sold

I have left her mouth out of the picture because we can’t believe anything she says anyway. Therefore we dont need to SEE or HEAR her mouth.

Early in December a series of news articles began to appear concernning Susana Martinez as she began to prepare for the transition of power that would be complete with her inauguration on January 15th.

The main article which caught my attention and inspired me to oppose what Martinez was doing to betray those who voted for her in good faith that she would keep her campaign promises.

The article was titled:

Martinez admits shift away from campaign pledge By Heath Haussamen

and can be found at

http://www.nmpolitics.net/index/2010/12/martinez-admits-shift-away-from-campaign-pledge.

My reaction is posted here and can be better understood if the reader glances over the article. I provided the link to the article in the hope that the reader will have similar rections of indignation over how meaningless campaigns and how hypocritical platforms tend to be. My indignation over Martinez was only superceded by the delight by which opposition was generated in people by the facts presented in the article. I will have more to say about this affair and other subsequent abuses of powers by Martinez later

Here we go- On the home turf

I will start with New Mexico, whose political misdeeds and abuses never seem to end

There were several articles and news videos from mainstream and alternative media concerning Susana Matinez appearing soon after her inauguration. These articles unequivocably presented Martinez in a campaign promise-breaking light. I can recall some of the issues that were the topics of these articles.

Is this anger really necessary?

I had no interest in politics until about 4 years ago. It just happened one afternoon that I was asked to join an Activist group at the University. It was an education that shaped and re-energized the beliefs that I have posted above. It has fostered a desire to a part of the solution to the problems facing us today and oppose those who are the cause of those problems.

People don’t listen to you when you are angry. They do not listen to you when they are angry either

Listening is a tricky thing but it really needs to be done

This blog entry is merely a light-hearted introduction to a pernicious problem. It is now that things stop being funny.

“Tea Potty” Explained

I only attack pernicious politcal principles, not the people that hold on to them. Therefore I can offer an Interesting annotation on the mispronunciation of the word “party” as “potty”. I do this quite frankly because the Tea Party is basically full of shit.

This  name “Tea Party”alludes to the fact that during the reign of George III and his infamous “taxation without representation”, the colonists felt justified in dumping several tons of British tea into the Boston Harbor. This memorable American history event would be forever known as the Boston Tea Party. It is from here that the modern Republican extremsts of today got thie name: Tea Party.

But this blog is not exclusively about the Tea Party, It is about pernicious politics regardless of the underlying ideology or the responsible political party or person involved whether it is Republican, Democrat, or other. I am an equal opportunity asshole.

What I believe-Part 1

I believe that:

Most but not all politicians break their promises once they are elected.

Most but not all elected officials listen to thier constituents or even care about them

Most but not all of them employ fanfare before and after elections to deceive the public and most use ambigous speech to cloud issues and confuse potential voters.

Most but not all politicians and elected officials pay more mind to their largest campaign and gift contributors, sometimes hiding or falsely reporting their donations

I have more beliefs. This blog’s purpose is to prove them. And after that offer a solution to those issues and campaign effectively to deal with them.

I especially believe that If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.
